Are you familiar with Goodreads.com? It’s a great way to keep track of what you’re reading, when you finished it, what you thought of it, plus sort into whatever categories you want, and remember books you’d like to read later. Social network, so you can join like-minded readers in book discussion or recommendations.

I love Goodreads. In my eternal struggle to list, categorize and label absolutely everything, I’ve found it to be a fun playground for book lovers like me. Definitely recommend!

I hadn’t seen that sight before. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks!

  4. Alison D. says:

Definitely check out goodreads. This is a pretty impressive list.

  5. Awww, what the heck, DD…??!!
Are you trying to KILL me here? Like I don’t have ENOUGH reading to do?

Man, it’s like the first day of American Lit class all over again. ;)

Seriously, though, that’s a highly impressive list. I already own/have read a few of those, but well over 50% of that list is not in my mental Rolodex.

Oh, well: Amazon.com, here I come!

JTR: I love Amazon. There are have been a few times I put too much on my credit card because of all the books I want to read. But for 2013 I’m putting together a plan for reading so hopefully I can go the whole year without buying anymore. But I happen to know Victor Davis Hanson is coming out with a new one in May that looks really good. So maybe I can keep book purchases down to one. Not likely though. :)

JTR: Six Frigates was good. That era of naval history is particularly interesting to me, bot British and American. The last third of the book is about the war at sea during the War of 1812 and it was definitely epic. Enjoy!

  6. Thank you for this list. Some good choices. I just downloaded ‘The Frontiersman’ to my Kindle as a result of your recommendation and the amazing reviews on Amazon.
